At the Academician V.V. Vakhidov Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Surgery, a robotic surgery for kidney retrieval from a living related donor for subsequent transplantation was performed for the first time.

The operation was carried out jointly with Dilmurodjon Eshmuminov, a consultant surgeon from the Department of Visceral Surgery and Transplantation at the University Hospital Zurich.

The donor was an older sister who gave a kidney to her younger sister. The patients were referred for treatment with the support of the "VAQF" foundation, using funds raised through charitable donations.

The surgery was successful, and both patients have already been transferred to the specialized department.

It is particularly noteworthy that Dilmurodjon Eshmuminov is a native of Uzbekistan and proudly noted the high level of medical development, equipment, and implementation of modern technologies at the Center of Surgery.
